WhatsApp Messages Not Sending: How to Fix It

Your messages sit with a clock icon or a single grey tick and never reach the other person.

Try these in order

  1. Check you're actually online Open a website in your browser to confirm your Wi-Fi or mobile data is working (WhatsApp Help Center).

  7. Try a different network Office, campus and hotel Wi-Fi sometimes blocks WhatsApp — switch to another Wi-Fi network or a personal hotspot (WhatsApp Help Center).
