Amazon Order or Tracking Not Updating: How to Fix It
Your Amazon order says "shipped," but the tracking page hasn't moved for days — or there's no tracking number at all.
Try these in order
- Give the first carrier scan time to appear. Tracking details only show up after the carrier physically scans your package, which can lag when shipping volume is high (Amazon Customer Service).
- Open the order and tap Track package. Go to Your Orders, open the shipment, and copy the full TBA or carrier tracking number so you can see the latest scan and timestamp (WhereIsMyOrder).
- Check the tracking number on the carrier's own site. Paste it into UPS, FedEx, or USPS tracking — the carrier often shows scans that haven't reached Amazon's page yet (ParcelPath).
- Accept a normal quiet gap. Gaps of roughly 24-72 hours between scans are common on long routes and don't mean the parcel is lost (WhereIsMyOrder).
- Contact the seller for third-party orders. If there's no Track package link, open Your Orders, choose Problem with order, then Contact seller (Amazon Customer Service).
- Wait for the estimated delivery date to pass, then start a return or replacement. Amazon points you to the Returns Centre once the promised date has gone by (Amazon Customer Service).
Still stuck? Contact Amazon through the Customer Service Home Page with your order ID and tracking ID and ask them to trace the shipment or send a replacement (About Amazon).
