Telegram Photos and Videos Won't Download: How to Fix It
Media in your Telegram chats stays blurred or stuck on a loading circle, and tapping to download does nothing.
Try these in order
- Check your phone's storage You can't save a video or other media if there isn't enough free space, so clear some room and try again (Guiding Tech).
- Turn off data saver mode On mobile data, data saver can cap the download size, so disable it and retry the download (Guiding Tech).
- Turn on automatic media download Open Telegram Settings > Data and Storage and enable automatic media download for both Wi-Fi and mobile data (Guiding Tech).
- Raise the maximum video size In Data and Storage > Automatic Media Download, open your Wi-Fi settings, tap Videos and drag the slider up — Telegram won't start a download that exceeds your limit (Guiding Tech).
- Turn off Power Saving in Telegram Go to Telegram Settings > Power Saving and slide it toward Off, as this setting can stop media downloading (Guiding Tech).
- Allow background activity (iPhone) Open Settings, scroll to Telegram and enable Background App Refresh so downloads don't pause when you switch apps (Guiding Tech).
- Clear Telegram's cache (Android) and update the app A large or corrupted cache can block downloads; clear it, install any app update, then try again (Guiding Tech).
