Telegram Messages Not Sending: How to Fix It
Your Telegram messages hang with a spinning clock icon, never leave the chat, or the app says it can't connect.
Try these in order
- Check whether it's really a sending problem Send a test message to Saved Messages: one check means it was delivered but not read, two checks means it was read, and only a stuck spinner means the send actually failed (iTechGuides).
- Switch networks Move from Wi-Fi to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network — public, work and school networks sometimes restrict Telegram specifically (iTechGuides).
- Restart your router if Wi-Fi is the problem If Telegram works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi, reboot the router rather than reinstalling the app (iTechGuides).
- Turn off a broken proxy A failed proxy makes Telegram look offline; tap the shield icon at the top of your chat list, or go to Settings > Data and Storage > Proxy Settings, and disable or change it (iTechGuides).
- Update Telegram and relaunch it Install any update, fully close the app (on Android, kill it from the recent apps list), reopen it and send a test message (iTechGuides).
- Consider whether you've been blocked If messages to one person stay on one check and you can no longer see their profile photo or last-seen status, they may have blocked you (iTechGuides).
