Spotify Won't Let You Log In: How to Fix It
Your password isn't accepted, you can't remember which email you signed up with, or the app just spins and says something went wrong when you try to sign in.
Try these in order
- Reset your password If you can't remember it, use Spotify's password reset page rather than guessing repeatedly.
- Try every email address you own On the reset page, enter each possible address — Spotify only sends the reset email to an address actually registered with an account.
- Try your other sign-up methods You may have signed up with a phone number, Apple, or Google rather than email. Tapping those buttons often finds the account instantly.
- Check your internet connection A weak or unstable connection is a common cause of sign-in errors. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Update or restart the app Install the latest version of Spotify and fully close and reopen it before trying again.
- Reinstall Spotify Delete the app and download it again. Remember you'll need to re-download saved music and podcasts once you're back in.
Still stuck? Check @SpotifyStatus for a known outage before assuming it's your account. If you genuinely can't access the email or phone number linked to your account, you'll need to contact Spotify support directly.
