Spotify Connect Won't Find Your Speaker: How to Fix It
You tap the device icon to send music to a speaker, TV, or smart display and it isn't in the list — or it connects and then drops out.
Try these in order
- Put everything on the same Wi-Fi When connecting to a speaker for the first time, all your devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Start playing something first Play a song, then press the device icon at the bottom of the screen and pick the device you want. If you paused for more than 10 minutes, you may need to reconnect.
- Restart everything Restart the Spotify app, restart the speaker or display, and restart the phone or computer running Spotify.
- Update all your software Make sure the Spotify app and your devices' own software are up to date.
- Give Spotify local network access on iPhone Go to iPhone Settings, tap Spotify, then switch on Local Network so it can see nearby devices.
- Log into the speaker with your Spotify account Signing into the device with your Spotify credentials lets it show up in the app even when it isn't on the same Wi-Fi.
Still stuck? Restart your Wi-Fi or try a different network, and if you see several devices with the same name, try connecting to each in turn. If it still won't appear, check with the speaker manufacturer that it supports Spotify Connect.
