Snapchat Streak Disappeared or Won't Update: How to Fix It

Your Snapstreak with a friend vanished, or the flame and number aren't showing even though you both sent Snaps that day.

Try these in order

  1. Look for the Restore button Open the one-on-one or group Chat that had the Streak. If a "Restore" button appears next to it, tap it and follow the in-app instructions to get the Streak back.
  2. Act fast Only recently expired Streaks can be restored. If there's no Restore button, the Streak ended too long ago to bring back.
  3. Make sure Snaps are actually sending A Streak only counts if the Snap goes through, so fix any sending problems first — check your connection and make sure the app is up to date.
  4. Close and reopen Snapchat A quick app restart often refreshes a Streak counter that's lagging behind.
  5. Clear your cache In Settings, use Clear Data or Clear Cache. It won't delete your Snaps or Chats and can fix display glitches.
  6. Submit the Streak restore form If the in-app option isn't available, fill out Snapchat's Streak restore request form and they'll review it.
Still stuck? Remember that chats, Stories, Snaps from Memories, and group Snaps don't count toward a Streak — only regular Snaps between you and that friend do. If restores keep failing, Snapchat Support's Streaks section has more options.
