Snapchat Snaps Not Sending: How to Fix It
You tap send and the Snap sits there with a spinning arrow, a red exclamation mark, or a "tap to retry" message instead of going through to your friend.
Try these in order
- Check your internet connection Move somewhere with better cell service or switch to a stable Wi-Fi network — weak signal is the most common cause of stuck Snaps.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data If Wi-Fi is patchy, turning it off and using cellular (or the reverse) often pushes the Snap through immediately.
- Close Snapchat and reopen it Fully swipe the app away and launch it again to refresh the connection.
- Update Snapchat Get the latest version from the App Store or Google Play — and ask your friend to update too, since an old version on either end can block delivery.
- Clear your cache In Settings, tap Clear Data, then Clear Cache and confirm. This frees up space and won't delete your Memories, Snaps, or Chats.
- Restart your phone Turn the device fully off for a full minute, then power it back on and try again.
Still stuck? If Snaps still won't send after all of this, the problem is likely on Snapchat's end — wait a while and try again later, or contact Snapchat Support through the app's help section.
